HORAA Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities (HJSSH) is a peer-review journal owned by Bule Hora University that serves as a forum for research on disciplines of social sciences and humanities, education and behavioral sciences, business and economics, and law. The journal encourages interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration across disciplines. It also seeks to support both specialized scholarship and integrative research that advance academic scholarship, support informed decision-making, and contribute to the understanding of social, cultural, economic, educational, and legal dimensions of contemporary life.

The journal welcomes original research articles, reviews, critical essays, and theoretical discussions that contribute to advancing knowledge within and across these disciplines. Manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo anonymous, double-blind, rigorous review by expert referees in the relevant disciplines.

By publishing in both English language and Afaan Oromoo, the journal enhances accessibility and understanding, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and innovative approaches to complex social issues. It stimulates critical discourse on contemporary challenges, supports emerging scholars by providing a venue for early-career researchers, and emphasizes the relevance of research to policy-making and social interventions. The journal’s editorial and ethical policies are informed by internationally recognized scholarly publishing standards, ethical guidelines issued by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
